Canada shares greater at shut of commerce; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.44%

Investing.com – Canada shares have been greater after the shut on Tuesday, as features within the Vitality, Telecoms and Supplies sectors led shares greater.

On the shut in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite gained 0.44%.

The perfect performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite have been Brookfield Enterprise Companions LP (TSX:BBU_u), which rose 7.11% or 2.25 factors to commerce at 33.90 on the shut. In the meantime, Parex Sources Inc (TSX:PXT) added 6.66% or 0.91 factors to finish at 14.58 and Cargojet Inc (TSX:CJT) was up 5.37% or 5.50 factors to 107.87 in late commerce.

The worst performers of the session have been Tilray Inc (TSX:TLRY), which fell 3.06% or 0.06 factors to commerce at 1.90 on the shut. Denison Mines Corp (TSX:DML) declined 1.88% or 0.05 factors to finish at 2.61 and Celestica Inc. (TSX:CLS) was down 1.59% or 2.14 factors to 132.66.

Rising shares outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Inventory Change by 730 to 187 and 79 ended unchanged.

The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite choices, was up 4.53% to 12.22.

Gold Futures for February supply was up 0.79% or 20.60 to $2,638.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities buying and selling, Crude oil for supply in February rose 1.16% or 0.82 to hit $71.81 a barrel, whereas the March Brent oil contract rose 1.16% or 0.85 to commerce at $74.42 a barrel.

CAD/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 0.69, whereas CAD/EUR unchanged 0.49% to 0.67.

The US Greenback Index Futures was up 0.29% at 108.25.
