German retail gross sales fall unexpectedly in November


(Reuters) – German retail gross sales fell unexpectedly in November, information confirmed on Wednesday, regardless of hopes for a lift from pre-Christmas promotions like Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Retail gross sales declined by 0.6% in actual phrases in contrast with the earlier month, the federal statistics workplace reported.

Analysts polled by Reuters had predicted a 0.5% enhance.

In response to an annual estimate given by the statistics workplace, the retail sector in Germany generated 1.3 % extra gross sales in actual phrases in 2024 than in 2023.
