OTTAWA (Reuters) – Canada on Friday imposed sanctions on 14 present and former senior officers of the Venezuelan authorities, alleging that that they had engaged in actions which have supported human rights violations in Venezuela.
The sanctions coincide with measures taken by Canada’s allies together with the US and United Kingdom (TADAWUL:4280), and “show a message of solidarity with the Venezuelan individuals,” the Canadian overseas ministry stated in an announcement.
The Venezuelan communications ministry didn’t instantly reply to a request for touch upon Friday’s new and expanded sanctions from international locations together with the US and Britain.
