South Korea jobless charge jumps to 3-1/2-year excessive in December


SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s jobless charge jumped to the best in 3-1/2 years in December, as financial uncertainty heightened and sentiment dampened amid political turmoil, official information confirmed on Wednesday.

The unemployment charge rose in December to three.7% on a seasonally adjusted foundation, the best since June 2021 and sharply up from 2.7% in November, in keeping with Statistics Korea.
