Russian oil merchandise trapped at sea by US sanctions, LSEG knowledge reveals


MOSCOW (Reuters) – Practically 500,000 metric tons of Russian oil merchandise are trapped on tankers hit by U.S. sanctions, LSEG knowledge confirmed on Wednesday.

On Jan. 10, new Russia-related sanctions focused greater than 180 vessels and insurance coverage firms, including to the influence of comparable restrictions imposed by United Kingdom (TADAWUL:4280) and Europe Union.

The vessels below the newest U.S. sanctions embody 9 tankers that loaded oil merchandise at Russian Baltic and Black Sea ports in December and January.

4 of them – Cup, Aquatica, Turaco and Onyx – are carrying in complete round 280,000 tons of gas oil, destined for India, Turkey and Singapore, LSEG knowledge reveals.
