US says Toyota unit to plead responsible, pay over $1.6 billion to settle fraud scheme


WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A Toyota Motor (NYSE:TM) Corp unit agreed to plead responsible and pay over $1.6 billion in a settlement with U.S. authorities companies to settle violations associated to an emissions fraud scheme, the U.S. Justice Division mentioned in a press release on Wednesday.

The Justice Division, FBI and Environmental Safety Company, amongst different our bodies, reached prison and a number of civil resolutions with Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors, the Justice Division mentioned.
