Texas ports, pilots droop some operations as winter storm hits

(Reuters) – Texas ports and pilots, who help in transferring vessels round ports, suspended some operations on Monday as frigid climate situations hit the state.

All of Port Houston’s eight public services will probably be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, the port mentioned, including that vessel operations had been suspended on Monday and container terminal truck gates had been closed from Monday night.

The Brazos Santiago Pilots, who assist transfer ships to the Port of Brownsville and Port Isabel in Texas, had been scheduled to halt ship actions simply earlier than midnight on Monday as offshore situations worsened, in response to a discover from a transport agent.

The Lake Charles Pilots mentioned they halted operations on Monday night and can reassess situations on Wednesday for resumption.
