Canada November retail gross sales flat; seen up 1.6% in December


Jan 23 (Reuters) – Canadian retail gross sales had been unchanged in November from October at C$67.57 billion ($46.99 billion), as larger gross sales at motorcar and components sellers had been offset by decrease gross sales at meals and beverage retailers, Statistics Canada stated on Thursday. Gross sales seemingly rose 1.6% in December, the company stated in a flash estimate.

In November, gross sales had been down in six of 9 subsectors, representing 56.7% of retail commerce. In quantity phrases, retail gross sales fell 0.4%.
