New photo voltaic crops to energy majority of US electrical energy technology development, EIA says


(Reuters) – The U.S. Power Info Company expects development in U.S. energy technology over the subsequent two years to be largely pushed by new photo voltaic crops, it mentioned on Friday.

The EIA mentioned in a observe that U.S. utilities and impartial energy producers are anticipated so as to add 26 gigawatts (GW) of photo voltaic capability in 2025 and one other 22 GW by 2026.

The company forecasts that U.S. coal retirements will speed up, eradicating 6% (11 GW) of coal producing capability from the U.S. electrical energy sector in 2025 and one other 2% (4 GW) in 2026.
