US extends Serbian oil agency NIS’s sanctions waiver for 30 days, President Vucic says


BELGRADE (Reuters) – The USA Treasury has granted a 30-day extension to the Serbian oil firm NIS’s sanctions waiver, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic mentioned on Friday.

NIS operates Serbia’s solely oil refinery, which has an annual capability of 4.8 million tons and covers a lot of the Balkan nation’s power wants.

It’s majority-owned by Russia’s Gazprom Neft and Gazprom.

The waiver had been as a result of expire at midnight.

“We’ve got obtained one other 30 days of sanctions reprieve for NIS … Because of our American companions for understanding,” Vucic mentioned in a publish on Instagram.
