GM recollects over 132,000 vehicles over tailgate unlatching, NHTSA says


(Reuters) -The Nationwide Freeway Visitors Security Administration mentioned on Tuesday that Basic Motors (NYSE:GM) is recalling about 132,037 vehicles resulting from considerations about tailgates unlatching unexpectedly.

The recall impacts sure 2024 fashions of Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500, 3500, and GMC Sierra HD 2500, 3500 autos outfitted with power-unlatching tailgates.

Water intrusion could trigger the tailgate’s digital gate-release change to brief circuit, probably leading to unintended unlatching whereas the car is in Park.

The U.S. auto security regulator suggested homeowners of affected fashions to make sure that the tailgate is securely closed and latched earlier than driving.
