Stellantis to rejoin ACEA auto producers affiliation


MILAN (Reuters) -Stellantis on Friday mentioned it deliberate to rejoin European auto foyer ACEA (BIT:ACE), which it had left in the beginning of 2023, in a transfer which may flag a extra cautious stance for the automaker on its electrification plans.

“Stellantis (NYSE:STLA), Europe’s second largest carmaker, confirms that it intends to use for membership of ACEA,” the group mentioned in an announcement.

The European Car Producers Affiliation, broadly recognized by its French acronym ACEA, has been the trade’s foremost lobbying group since its creation in 1991, uniting Europe’s automobile, truck, van and bus makers.

Stellantis had left the group following a choice by its former CEO Carlos Tavares.

Tavares, who resigned early this week, just lately opposed an ACEA proposal to delay European Union fines for automakers which fail to fulfill intermediate carbon discount targets set for 2025.

ACEA on Saturday welcomed Stellantis’ software.
