EU and Mercosur nations finalise contentious commerce deal

MONTEVIDEO/BRUSSELS (Reuters) – The European Union and South America’s Mercosur bloc have finalised a free commerce settlement, the European Fee stated on Friday but it surely faces a tortuous battle for approval in Europe given French and Italian opposition.

“This can be a win for Europe,” European Fee president Ursula von der Leyen advised a press convention in Montevideo.
