WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Commerce Division stated on Friday it was finalizing an award of as much as $4.745 billion to South Korea’s Samsung Electronics (KS:005930) and as much as $1.61 billion for Texas Devices (NASDAQ:TXN) to develop chip manufacturing.

The division additionally finalized an award of as much as $407 million to assist fund Amkor Know-how (NASDAQ:AMKR)’s deliberate $2 billion superior semiconductor packaging facility in Arizona, which is about to be the most important of its sort within the U.S.
