Donald Trump has warned the European Union he’ll impose a 200% tariff on its alcohol – together with wine and champagne – except the bloc removes US whiskey duties.
The US president used a social media publish to concern his newest risk to the EU having beforehand warned that it was created to “screw america”.
He wrote in a Reality Social publish: “The European Union, some of the hostile and abusive taxing and tariffing authorities on this planet, which was shaped for the only real objective of making the most of america, has simply put a nasty 50% tariff on whisky.
“If this tariff isn’t eliminated instantly, the US will shortly place a 200% Tariff on all WINES, CHAMPAGNES, & ALCOHOLIC PRODUCTS COMING OUT OF FRANCE AND OTHER E.U. REPRESENTED COUNTRIES.
